About

My name is Kerrie Mitchell, and I'm an editor, writer, and content strategist. I believe in the power of a well-told, well-packaged narrative to fascinate, inform, and move an audience. I’ve spent my working life developing visions for brands using every kind of content available, from long-form journalism to social media to video.

I’ve thrived in both traditional and digital media environments. I spent nearly 10 years as an editor at Entertainment Weekly, where I rose to senior editor and managed everything from the Must List to consumer technology to breaking news. Later, I joined Yahoo, where I was promoted to managing editor of Yahoo Movies, one of the biggest movie news and content sites on the Internet. I’m now the editorial director of the New-York Historical Society, New York City’s oldest museum.

I live in Brooklyn and grew up in Woodbridge, New Jersey, the only town in the state where the Turnpike and Parkway cross (I had two exits!). I’m a life-long runner and a lover of movies, who gets a little too emotional about women’s soccer.
